What Is Sculptra?

Sculptra is an injectable dermal filler used to smooth fine lines and wrinkles around the face. Additionally, Sculptra helps stimulate collagen production, which improves the overall health and complexion of the skin.

How Does Sculptra Work?

Sculptra consists of a gel-like substance made from poly-L-lactic acid. Although the filler immediately adds volume to the skin and reduces wrinkles, the treatment’s most powerful effects take place after the poly-L-lactic acid is absorbed into the body. Poly-L-lactic acid is a collagen stimulator, which means it encourages the cells to produce more collagen. As more collagen is produced, your skin gradually becomes smoother, healthier, and more youthful-looking.

Benefits of Sculptra

For anyone who would like to rejuvenate their facial skin, Sculptra can offer some or all of these benefits:

  • Reduced facial lines and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds and marionette lines
  • Increased facial volume and balance
  • Smoother, more youthful-looking skin
  • Increased self-confidence
  • Long-lasting results
  • Increased collagen production

What Should I Expect During the Procedure?

If you’re considering Sculptra treatment, the first step will be a quick consultation with Dr. Sulyman-Scott. During your meeting, she will ask you about your aesthetic goals and discuss the treatment with you. She’ll also need to know about your medical history, medications, and allergies, and you’ll have the chance to ask any questions that you have about the procedure.

Sculptra treatment can be performed as an outpatient procedure right at our clinic. First, Dr. Sulyman-Scott will apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area to prevent pain. Then, she will use a very fine needle to inject the Sculptra into your facial skin. The entire treatment will only take around 15 to 30 minutes, and you’ll be able to return home as soon as it’s finished.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

You’ll be able to resume your normal routine right away after your Sculptra treatment. However, you’ll want to avoid strenuous physical activity for at least a couple of days, and you may experience some swelling and bruising.
