Lip reduction is a custom surgery designed to decrease the volume of the upper or lower lip or both. Reducing excess lip tissue can rebalance the upper and lower lip to enhance facial harmony, making your face look well-proportioned while highlighting your other beautiful features. People from certain ethnic groups (African descent, Asians, and Hispanics) tend to have larger, fuller lips. While full lips are aesthetically desirable, bigger is not always better.

If lip reduction surgery is appropriate in your case, she will help you prepare for your procedure and give you all the information you need. Lip reduction surgery is an outpatient procedure that usually takes less than an hour and is performed with local anesthesia.
Dr. Sulyman-Scott will make a horizontal incision on the inside of your lip and then remove excess fat and tissue from your lip or lips. Once the desired volume has been achieved, she will suture the incision with stitches that will dissolve after a few days.
