Cheeks and Cheekbones Enhance Your Look with a Custom Cheek Augmentation

Both men and women lose facial volume as part of the natural aging process. You may even notice your cheeks begin to sag and droop. If you are younger, you may have inherited cheekbones from your family and have a flatter facial look that you want to enhance. With facial fat transfer, implants, or dermal fillers, your cheeks can be emphasized, creating a more sculpted and attractive profile.

Subtle Benefits for a More Beautiful You

The benefits of surgical cheek augmentation include:

  • Minimally invasive procedures that carry a low risk of complications
  • Long-lasting results
  • Can be combined with other procedures, such as a brow lift or a facelift
  • The procedure is customized to achieve subtle or dramatic results that meet your goals
  • A refreshed, more refined facial appearance

What Are My Options?

Cheek augmentation can be performed using various advanced methods. During your initial consultation with Dr. Sulyman-Scott, she will discuss your options with you, asking you questions to ensure she fully understands your vision, your hopes, and your goals. She performs two types of surgical cheek augmentation:

Cheek Implants

In this procedure, solid implants made of biocompatible materials (such as silicone) are placed directly over the cheekbones. The results are long-lasting, and typically do not need to be revised in the future.

Fat Transfer

This method uses your own fat (typically from your abdomen or thighs). First, a liposuction procedure is performed to harvest the fat cells that will be injected. After a purifying process, the fat cells are meticulously injected into your cheeks. The fat cells integrate into your tissues, becoming part of your natural facial structure, restoring lost volume in the most natural way.

What is Cheek Augmentation Surgery Like?

Cheek augmentation surgery is an outpatient procedure when performed on its own. Depending on your unique circumstances, the most effective anesthetic will be administered. The cheek augmentation procedure usually takes about 1-2 hours to complete.

How Much Time Will it Take to Recover?

In the days following your surgery, you will experience some mild bruising and swelling. This is a normal reaction, that should resolve on its own within a week or two.

You should be able to return to work or other activities within 2-7 days. Dr. Sulyman-Scott will go over your post-surgery care with you and inform you of what you can do to help facilitate a speedy recovery.

In addition, you will have follow-up appointments to ensure you experience an optimal healing process. Scarring is minimal, and you will be able to see the results when the residual swelling subsides.
